There is some terrible stabbing of heads and gouging of eyes and Sandor realizes the only way to end his brother once and for all is to tackle him and go down with him into the flames below, plummeting to fiery and symbolic death into the thing he fears the most. Even this late in the game, the show is once again pulling out a Game of Thrones Season. The Mountain is responsible for the death of so many of our faves-Oberyn Martell! Elia Martell! Missandei! Like, all of the Riverlands! His horse!-that it's due time he suffered some justice.Īfter the Mountain tosses Qyburn to the side, killing him instantly (which, you gotta believe he’s been dying to do for ages), the Hound manages to knock off his zombie brother's helmet, and we finally get to see what has been lurking under there for all these years. But, as the show has done every year, to help replace those who pass the year before, new characters arrive. Remember how, when they were children, the Mountain pushed Sandor’s face into a fire for stealing his toys? And that Sandor has been terrified of fire ever since? He's bad. As you’ll no doubt recall, the Hound’s horrifying older brother, the Mountain, was brought back to life through some terrible wizardry of Qyburn’s. The penultimate episode tied up at least one storyline we’ve been waiting for since very early on.
